    03 Method
    • Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
    • Step 2
Beat butter and sugars until creamy.
    • Step 3
Add eggs and vanilla. Mix well.
    • Step 4
Mix in the dry ingredients. Mix in chocolate chips.
    • Step 5
Scoop a rounded tablespoon (or use a medium cookie scoop) of dough onto parchment lined cookie sheets.
    • Step 6
Bake 8 minutes or until cookies are golden.
    • Step 7
Remove from oven, add one chocolate wafer and a few more semisweet chocolate chips. Allow to cool for a few minutes and remove to wire rack to decorate.
    • Step 8
Melt about 1/2 cup melting wafers or chocolate chips in the microwave, stopping and stirring until smooth.
    • Step 9
Place warm chocolate in a piping bag fit with a small round tip. Or you can use a quart ziploc bag and cut a tiny hole in one of the corners.
    • Step 10
Let the chocolate cool a bit until it pipes neatly without running out of the bag. Then pipe 8 legs on each spider. While the wafer is still soft, add eyes if desired. Let cool completely before putting in a storage container.
