    • Chocolate Sour Cream Frosting
      • 3-4 cups powdered sugar
      • 1/2 cup sour cream
      • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
      • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
      • 1 cup butter softened
    • Chocolate Strawberry Cake
      • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
      • 1/2 cup strawberry puree place berries in a blender and blend
      • 1/3 cup milk
      • 1/2 cup sour cream
      • 1/2 cup oil
      • 3 eggs
      • 1 box cake mix

    03 Method
    • Step 1
      Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line pans with cupcake liners. Sift cake mix into a small bowl to remove any lumps and set aside.
    • Step 2
      In a large bowl, combine eggs, oil, sour cream, milk, strawberry puree, and vanilla extract. Stir in the cake mix. Fill cupcake liners 3/4 full and bake for 17-22 minutes or until an inserted knife comes out clean.
    • Step 3
      Chocolate Sour Cream Frosting: Beat butter until smooth. Add vanilla extract and cocoa powder and beat again. Add sour cream and 2 cups powdered sugar. Beat and then continue to add in more powdered sugar to reach your desired consistency.
    • Step 4
      Frost cooled cupcakes and top with a fresh strawberry.
